OT --- Re: Merrill Lynch You cannot yet short from the internet platform, which, as I said, is rudimentary, nor will it keep your balances up to date during the day. But you always have the option of phone contact with your financial advisor. The expectation is that the internet platform will be more trading oriented as internet based trading is rolled out at the end of the year. Executions are very good. I almost always use limit orders and have been surprised how often I get filled at the inside ask if I'm selling and vice versa. I also use Schwab, and find that Schwab' executions can be very good as well, but when it's bad it's horrid. And the customer service guys at Schwab are pleasant and efficient if you're simply looking for information, but have been trained to stonewall (and in one case with me, lie) when a problem arises. With ML, the "financial advisor" at least provides a sympathetic ear. As a result I'm gradually winding down my Schwab accounts and might be interested in the Morgan Stanley/Discover offering if the fees were competitive. BTW, the bulk of my trading is with MBT.
