Kap, <Its preliminary validation including simulation data on 2 RIMM only designs shows no failures, the slide says.>

I am confused:) How hardware VALIDATION can include
SIMULATION data? So, is this still a "theory", or
real hardware? Looks like again a sort of vaporware...
I guess Elmer has good overtime pay these days :)

But after all, this is "The Register", what do you
expect?

From their other article:
theregister.co.uk
<Over at HardOCP, the boys have a more technical version of this which says that low launch voltage exceeds the specification and derates RDRAM drive strength. It's something to do with position sensitivity.>
I am not sure about interpretation of the first sentence,
but the second one sounds very familiar :)

<Intel's i840 is a chipset that works>..
which includes AGP4x... Do you know that the
Intel AGP 4X specifications call for 100ps
edges, which is 1/3 of the RAMBUS specifications?
I wonder what does this mean for manufacturers :)

Take care...
