Michael, I never said that you took the position of favoring prayer in school, only that I started discussing that way back, and you became involved with one of my follow-up comments. It's too tedious to trace it all back.
<< I have never attacked you for your position on religion -- I have only asked you and others to not attack mine. Does that seem reasonable to you, Del >>
No it doesn't. I am not challenging you personal beliefs, only religious beliefs in general. The right wing has been challenging evolution being taught in our public schools, among other things, and are trying to impose their religious views in the public arena. Let them go ahead and challenge evolution facts, but then they shouldn't consider their beliefs off limits. Let's put all of the evidence for god and creation on one table, and evolution, the Big Bang, the expanding Universe, continental drift, radioactive decay, etc. on the other table, and see what makes the most sense.
If you consider religious views off limits, then the scientific community should consider all challenges to accepted scientific beliefs off limits, and start crying every time somebody challenges them.
