Future of Routers SCSI might be phased out but that is a BIG if. Read the article on fibre-channel/SCSI router. SCSI backplane makes a lot more sense than fibre when you don't need the distance and for many other reasons. Also, Crossroads is not standing still. Read the article on the interview with the CEO Brian Smith. They have future looking technologies that will make them relevant to the next century. The capital that they raise just opens up to so many opportunities. I think they are on the drawing board for fibre/ATM router, fibre/gig-ethernet router, and many others that probably haven't even crossed my mind. One thing is for sure, they are the LEADER in this field.
