a lot to think about....
If you have a stock as your core (for me msft, csco, qcom, dell) you know it better than you know other companies: mightnt you want to sell puts to be able to profit from the up in the stock you expect (else why would you hold it?) or be happy to own more of the stock?
Although to tell the truth when we say "I'd love to buy MSFT at 80" we dont REALLY mean we'd like to buy it at 80 in01, we'd be heartbroken if it was still 80 in 'o1, we are expecting to gain money on the put.
But I never thought about buying it back when it is in a profit mode: that's an excellent idea...esp in a market that hums and haws like this one does...I've only thought of waiting for it to expire....its a long time to '01 though and along the way there is a lot if downs that make one's portfolio look bad.....
Have to constantly rethink....good for the brain though.

And I agree Edamo's posts are always worth printing: I have to go back and read them all.
