It sounds like capital losses from production, etc. that they can carryover from year to year to keep the IRS off their backs. We have rental property, and can do something like that with it.

It sounds like they are forseeing a HUGE profit the 4th quarter...or else they had to take these losses this year; it would be interesting to see when the loss occurred....and whether or not they had to take it this year.

RE Doug Klein...I miss him, too. I wish his successor was more internet-savy. He's only posted one message, and that was when he took over. I don't even know if he's still with the company.

If he is, his name is Jim Fulton, and according to SI, he still gets e-mail at ncd.com, but it doesn't list his occupation on his page...
