Jim, re: Y2K

Isn't it interesting that IBM is pretty much alone in Y2K having an effect on it's business. INTC, MSFT, EMC, SUNW, and others claim that they don't see a current effect and don't anticipate one. Microsoft says PC demand is "awesome". Sun's hardware sales were fantastic.

So we have a couple of possibilities:

- Y2K is only effecting IBM.
- All the other tech companies are lying or are out of touch with their marketplace.
- IBM's hardware isn't selling, and they are using Y2K as an excuse.
- IBM's customers don't want to buy IBM's hardware, and are using Y2K as an excuse.

I suspect a combination of the last two.
