Dog,

I do not see DELL as anything like CPQ.

DELL did not cause the Taiwan earthquake.
DELL did not cause the delay in the RAMBUS chips.
DELL did not jack up the prices on DRAM to cover the situation caused by the last two events.
DELL is not hyping the market like CPQ did.
DELL is not cooking the books on unit sales or revenues.
DELL's accounting is a clean as a whistle.
The DELL officers are not ego maniacs and are not tainted
by allegations of bad behavior and Machiavellian corporate
politics.

DELL did what it could to assure supplies and get on the ground in Taiwan and determine the situation before opening the corporate mouth to the public.

DELL is on track to become a much larger company than CPQ.
The fact that they sometimes make mistakes is to be expected.

The fact that you are uncomfortable with DELL management style is not suprising since you were most familiar with CPQ's. Also, DELL's stock performance this year has been way
off previous years uptrends.

DELL is in transition to becoming a much larger company.
I am impressed with the management of the company. I am not
as happy about the performance of the stock YTD.
