This should put it a little more into perspective. About 35-40 minutes to get to the city, another 5-10 to get to my office. I don't work deep in the heart of Columbus. The nearest place to drive to a grocery? 10 minutes away going 55 mph, and that's for a run down IGA mini-mart kind of grocery. The produce section is about 5 feet of shelving long, one side of the aisle =P. Not the best place to shop, so I usually take a 20 minute drive to a real grocery chain to stock up on supplies. These are all one way estimates, btw. The nearest hospital is about 30 minutes away. And that's going at a good pace due to very little traffic (I realize how difficult it can be in the city traffic, after all). Single story hospital, too. Very small town kind of place. However, we do have a Honda plant out here. Being surrounded by farm fields makes it feel that much more rural to me. I'm not really up on what the latest qualifications are for a rural area though.
