German Utility Selects Anacomp's ImageSTAR Offering for Web-Delivery
And Storage of Heating Bills
SAN DIEGO, Oct. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Anacomp(R), Inc. (Nasdaq: ANCO), a leading application service provider for Internet-based document-management services, today announced an agreement with Viterra Energy Services of Germany, formerly Raab Karcher Energy Services, to implement a web-based document-management solution to provide storage and delivery of customer heating bills.
With 1,200 employees at 20 branches throughout Germany, Viterra Energy Services provides energy services to several hundred thousand residential and commercial properties. These services generate more than 11 million pages of heating bills each year. Before implementing Anacomp's online solution, Viterra sent an extra printed copy of most bills to its local branches for verification and correction before billing. Processing and storing this large volume of paper documents was costly and error-prone, and resulted in substantial delays in billing and customer service.
After evaluating several options, Viterra selected ImageSTAR(R), Anacomp's enterprise-wide digital document-management offering in the European market, for the online delivery and storage of these heating bills. The heating bills are now hosted in electronic format and accessed by branch personnel via wide- area network. Anacomp's solution delivers the heating bills automatically to each branch for pre-billing verification and any bill can now be quickly accessed and searched in response to customer inquiries. Viterra has reduced document delivery time from days to seconds and virtually eliminated storage and handling of paper documents, resulting in significant cost savings, operational efficiencies in the billing process and enhanced customer satisfaction.
