95% of unix servers were from Sun

Ravi,

This is very heartening since I bought Sun today. Also sold IBM naked puts and wouldn't mind owning IBM, not for hardware but for internet consulting services. I feel that big iron has been a drag on IBM's earnings for years. The company certainly recognizes this and is addressing it appropriately. Gerstner has turned the company around and shouldn't be blamed for making a conservative forecast. The issue is that the analysts can't get over the next 2 quarters. Fortunately I can. If the stock sported a 75 PE I might be concerned, but at market multiple, it's a great investment.

Sun, of course, is a different story. Much higher PE but probably worth it considering its dominance of the UNIX server marker that you noticed.

Pretty soon it will be time to be buying the homebuilders selling below book value with PEs in mid single digits. Can't put too many eggs in the alluring tech basket ;-)

Namaste,

Sam
