You must not have listened to Yahoo's earnings conference call. Tim Koogle says that Yahoo plans to start charging for auctions. Secondly, right now the number of auctions on Yahoo isn't as relevant as how many that actually close. Yahoo's can be automatically restarted if they fail. eBay has a much higher proportion of sucessful auctions.
