Geoff, wouldn't the voice delay and bulkiness of the Inmarsat option be a deterant for the general market? I can't see it being an option for the Australian traveling in his car. Here is the byline from the publication "Vodafone's GSM customers will continue to use their cellular phones everywhere they do today, and by upgrading to a Globalstar phone, they will be able to use their mobile phone service virtually anywhere they go with one phone and one number." Inmarset nor anyone else today can make the same statement. The case goes on to talk about ranches, homes, campsights, etc., that have no phone service whatsoever. With Globalstar, all one has to do is buy the satelite receiver kit and they are in business using any kind of handset they want. How big is that market? I don't know but Vodafone has 1 mil subscribers presently in Australia today and the number is growing. If 10% sign up, then we have 10,000. G* is currently licensed in over 120 nations worldwide. A few thousand from each gets us a bunch more than 50K and a lot closer to 1 mil. I guess I am having a hard time using the Inmarset or any GEO model as a benchmark.
