From the market's response to IBM and others who have mentioned possible y2k effects, I wouldn't be surprised if other companies re-thought mentioning y2k in relation to their earnings, whether or not they are expecting any effects.

Just heard a blip on NPR about y2k: said the banks wouldn't even notice the date change, and that we should consider y2k a buying opportunity, among other things. Maybe they have something, buy companies that mention y2k in their earnings statements after they tank 20-50%. : )
