Re: Internet Congestion, Redux, NetTrafficReport, tracert util

Hi Frank,

I found the topic intriguing so I dug a bit deeper. It turns out that Peter Sevcik of NCRI, is a regular columnist at Business Communications Review. He describes the metrics by which Keystone Systems, Inc. has been monitoring page loads for the last 4 years and adds a bit of intelligent observation of his own. Well worth reading and a lot more insightful than the ZD news piece.

bcr.com

While I'm at it, I thought we also could provide a general sense of Net traffic by stopping by this URL:

internettrafficreport.com

And for those who are really compulsive about this kind of thing, you can download a pretty nifty demo tracert utility here:

visualroute.com

Finally, Frank you have mentioned NANOG several times both here and on the LM thread. Could you let me know either here or via PM if there is any way for a civilian like me to access timely information on the site. A brief tour yielded a lot of information dating from 1998 and before. Like, dude, I thought we were all moving to Internet time, right? <vbg>

Best, Ray
