There is a finite amount of Y2K problems. But the amount of panderers, quacks, lawyers, quasi-software engineers (whatever that is!) creating hoopla about Y2K is almost infinite! Whatever problem there is will be over by next February, and then business will boom again, even for IBM!
Lot of Y2K bugs can also be manually overriden. IMHO, it is going to fizzle out after 4 weeks into the year 2000. PMTC will be minimally affected since they don't use their software in life-critical applications.
