The Third Reich would have fallen anyway. However, the great atrocities committed by Adolph Hitler were such that they should not have been allowed to continue as long as they were. When we are talking about a nuclear power, great caution must be exercised. During the height of the Cold War, a nuclear exchange would have killed 90% of the populations of both countries. The two instances are not comparable.
