The chief motivation for this acquisition must be the significant addition to staff. I often wondered, with all the shortages of embedded engineers, how Wind was ever going to achieve its ambitious target of $1B in sales. Surely they would have to more than double their staff. Well, acquisition seems to be the answer. Acquiring one large company would seem to make more sense than acquiring several smaller ones, each with its own management style.

Another positive is that the total market cap of the combined company must now be in excess of $1B, and this might trigger more institutions to consider following Wind.

The very short term outlook for the stock price must be negative. I am happy to predict this because my predictions are usually wrong.
