Easy old timer. I know you and dan go way back. so do I....
but I want to win a superbowl. with our offensive problems we need a qb that can throw the ball deep. marino doesn't have a great deep ball. no deep touch at all. his arm is much weaker than it used to be. his limited mobility is much worse than it used to be. and his inability to execute the play action pass limits this offense.it limits the running game.it limits the passing game. that is a fact... your used to the old dolphins offense. marino is awesome under those circumstances, but without a running game great defensive teams are going to eat him for dinner under those circumstances. they always have. now our offensive line and running game might get there. if so marino will be effective against the best teams. but without an awesome ol and rb dan will not win it all by himself. qb damon wasn't pretty, but he has a great deep ball and i'm not just talking about last weeks game. his deep passes during the preseason impressed me. i am a big marino fan, just not a blind loyal fan. im loyal, but not blind...

AND BY THE WAY. I hated Scott Mitchell. I was counting the days for Marino to come back. Back then he move around in the pocket better. He could throw the ball deeper and faster. He has changed drastically over the past 5 years. I KNOW. I SEE EVERY GAME. I HAVE HAD DSS since the beginning!

i hope marino gets better. but if he doesn't lets sit back and watch because it may be a good thing for us. maybe im wrong, but im SICK AND TIRED of watching marino loosing to defenses that attack him up the middle. like the patriot...bills...etc. even the jets...of last year...he get's scared and looses his cool. huard didn't do that last week. that really impressed me. of course he a lot younger...and Mitchell never seemed cool and confident. He had some big games, but he doesn't have what Damon has. Just my opinion and only time will make me look like an idiot, or not..

and marino wasn't all that impressive against the colts. he was the one who scored for the other team that put us behind the eight ball. Many of his passes were lame until the 4th quarter.

face it. marino will only be effective against a playoff team if the rb and ol is super, and if he is healthy. but damon could win those games because of his deep pass(tony martin) and mobility.. and a qb that can run scramble makes a big difference....and don't even try to take that angle..just ask john elway, brett farve, steve young if the ability to scramble is their job, and if it helps! Hell just ask troy Aikman if the qb option is an important play!
ALL SUPERBOWL WINNING QBS..

so if his arm strength comes back and he stays healthy lets hope someone has the BALLS to set him straight. I.E:

1.) Work his ass off on executing the deep pass with touch.

2.) Work his ass off on executing the play action pass.

3.) Get him to throw to TONY MARTIN as much as possible.

4.) Put the best group of OL on the field. Because they ain't cutting it running the ball.

Those are the keys my friend...
