For business outlook, here are statements from CSCC's CEO: "We do not believe that the quarter's revenue performance is the result of any underlying fundamental business issues specific to Cascade," said Daniel E. Smith, Cascade's president and chief executive officer. "Rather, like many other communications equipment suppliers, we are seeing the effects of a number of changing industry dynamics, which have created uncertainty on the part of our service provider customers. We continue to believe Cascade's products and market position are among the strongest in the industry." "We also remain confident in the overall health of the networking industry," continued Smith. "Cascade is positioned to take advantage of long-term industry growth. While near-term spending is somewhat uneven, we believe that service provider capital budgets will grow long-term and that demand for data communications services will continue to increase for the foreseeable future."
