Hi GZ. Here's a nice link concerning the VIX, and the description involving Bollinger Bands is something that I've begun using to confirm 3-5 day moves in the indices.

Is this the use of the VIX which you find to be of use?

If so, is it the mere piercing of the upper or lower band by intraday action, or actual closing levels on a daily basis which is the most tell tale signal for coming reversal?
