Auric,

Here's something we can agree on. I was short several times in the past month, just quick put hits, but they all worked (7%-50% in a few days). QLTI, VRC, HIT. So I have a little background on the short side.

Here you mention VISX, which is in my crosshairs. BEAM just announced FDA approval of their laser, and LASE may do the same next week. STAA's implantable lenses that address the laser makers' markets are also gaining acceptance. So it looks like the competition is closing in on VISX when it is technically topped out and vulnerable anyways. I'm tempted to buy put LEAPs here, because I work with options (just my style when shorting) and it may take a while to see all this transpire.

Are you actually shorting it, or just watching? Do you have a scenario developed for this one? I'm not early, but I think I may not be late, either.

I am, of course, long CLPA. We're playing Russian Roulette with all the chambers loaded in the FDA revolver on this one. My position is pretty small, and I would guess yours is, too. Of the two of us, one of us is going to lose soon on that one. First round to you. In hindsight, I should have straddled that one at 9.5 instead of buying with intent to covered write.

Good Luck, Tuck
