Yes I do have a secondary broker but I can't close out an open position in my Schwab account with that broker. The only option is going short there and eating the extra commissions. Unfortunately, the open position I want to close out is in a retirement account and the other brokerage account is a standard brokerage acct. So if the stock tanks, I then have a tax consequence in addition to the extra commissions. It just isn't worth the hassle. And even if I split my retirement account, you can't go short in one. Pffffttt...

What I can't understand is the persistent refusal to communicate anything of substance to their customers or their brokers. Its obvious they have a major problem on their hands, its probable that its related to software changes to accomodate the new after hours trading...why don't they just back everything out, postpone after hours trading, reinstall the system software as of last week & go from there. And if my theory is wrong about it being related to changes to accomodate after hours trading, then what the heck is it and why the refusal to communicate _any_thing?
