Zicam Trial- Day 4

Well, I really believed when I went to bed last night that I was on the verge of being 100% cold free. Unfortunately, the 15 minutes I spent this morning blowing my nose and hacking up phlegm from my lungs convinced me otherwise. I don't feel too bad. At least, not bad enough to not go on my hunting trip this weekend. However, I am definitely not 100%. Apparently, Zicam was incapable of completely eliminating this cold in 3 days, as many predicted. Did it help? I think so but I honestly can't say for sure. Assuming that it did help, was the effect significant enough for me to want to use it again? Probably not but then I'll reserve final judgement for when I really do reach that 100% mark.

Actually, I should get a good idea this weekend as to how long this cold would have lasted had I not taken Zicam at all. I went to my hunting camp last weekend with two hunting buddies. One came down with a cold over the weekend. About two days after we broke camp, both myself and my other buddy came down with the same cold (I presume. Too coincidental otherwise). Both of those guys will be back at camp this weekend and I know for certain neither one has ever even heard of Zicam. It will be interesting to see how their colds progressed compared to mine. Hopefully, it will give me a better handle on whether or not Zicam has actually made a difference in my case. Kind of like a mini placebo controlled clinical study.

At any rate, I will not be able to post any final conclusions on this matter until next week. Dan- if you wish to forward my comments to GUMM management, then be my guest. See you next week.
