I agree. On the other hand, the tricky tight rope we have to walk in this debate is whether the government is anti-capitalist or not. There is a certain point in a monopoly where competition cannot be fostered. Thus, the government should not intervene in the market unless there are no competitors. For example, there were no competitors to AT&T. I can't speak for Alcoa, I'm not an expert.

Does Microsoft have competition? In the office suite market it does. Corel, et. al. In the O/S department? Hmmmm. Most people steal DOS and Windows anyway, though. Who knows?
