Before, Intel could delay and get away with it...this time they had to really break out the PR. This is further evidence for the old axiom, "Megahertz sells"-TM McMannis, in that if you don't have the megahertz lead all you have is excuses and a couple synthetic benchmarks, in this horse race. Most all the gamers I talk to aren't fooled by optimized benchmarks like "winstone 99". Even with Intels gasping attempt to surpass the 700MHZ Athlon with a "short supply" 733MHZ coppermine, they understand which on the is more powerful chip...and just laugh.
