<<Naked shorts - aren't those the folks who sit in front of several daytrading screens, cursing at Level II and wearing, like, nada?>>

Wearing like nada reminds me of high school. I had a friend who's father owned a ton of ground and traded bean futures. The family lived in a bungalow. In today's terms the old man made around $350,000 a year. Some of us went over for a lunch of hominy (no shit it was only hominy) and the old man was walking in circles in the living room naked. Beans had gone down 1 cent and he had lost like $500. Seems like every time he lost or spent a dime he got naked and walked in circles. Family thought it was normal. I had to stare at the hominy in order to be able to eat it.

One year he made some real money and bought a Cadillac which his son took one evening. Son raced the son of a Pontiac dealer who had a new Bonneville from point A to point B. They took different routes and met, so to speak. The old fart forced us to go to the junk yard and see the wrecks. Like wow, we couldn't get in without him, we tried.
