OT OT sort of, someone else may have this same problem.
I purchased a Dell xps r450 about six month's ago and it crashed or froze up at least once a week. Finally it crashed and would not reboot, I had to reformat and reinstall win.98. I did not reinstall Norton SystemWorks which came preloaded from Dell and now two months later I have not had any problems at all.
I am not blaming Dell but I am thinking that Norton SystemWorks was the culprit.
btw, Dell customer service was top notch in helping me through this problem.
