SENCO CARBON MONOXIDE ALARM SALES SHOW SIGNIFICANT INCREASE
VANCOUVER - Senco Sensors Inc. is pleased to report increased sales of its Model ONE carbon monoxide (CO) alarm for August and September of 1999. Due to expanded distribution and brand awareness, as well as growing knowledge of the dangers of CO, preliminary sales are up significantly from the same period last year.
"Senco's Carbon Monoxide alarm has been recognized by our customers for its reliability, user friendly features and most importantly its ability to provide consumers with accurate readings at both high and low levels of CO." stated Nasim Tyab, president and CEO. "This is unique in that it positions our product as a home safety device as well as an indoor air quality monitor."
In September of 1998, Senco reported sales of approximately 430 carbon monoxide alarms. Though a modest beginning to the 1998/1999 CO alarm selling season, by the end of April sales had grown to over 30,000 units. In August and September of 1999, the Company is pleased to report preliminary sales of more than 11,700 alarms. This growth is especially significant given the fact that August/September is only the beginning of the CO season and demand typically grows as temperatures drop and furnaces come into use.
By mid-November of this year, Senco plans to launch two new carbon monoxide alarms, Models 2002 and 2003. The new models offer key features and incorporate Senco's top rated sensing technology and will be available to retailers and consumers at a more economical price point.
The Consumer Products Safety Commission recommends that every home have at least one carbon monoxide detector. Currently, however, fewer than 15% of U.S. homes have carbon monoxide detectors. Senco Sensors Inc. is dedicated to becoming a major manufacturer of residential carbon monoxide detectors.
