First of all, Lizzie, I think the "elite", corporate or otherwise are almost always self-annointed. Who but themselves refer to them as "elite".

Number two; people with real power tend toward conservatism. If you wish to denigrate conservatism by painting it as "far right" that's your prerogative. Doesn't make it true.

In spite of what your set professes, I believe you are in for a rude shock if you think the majority in your area is agnostic, if not atheist. The largest single group in California is Hispanic and they are not members of the Godless crowd.

You say, "But we have more money than the bible belt, therefore liberal, Godless California matters much more than the sheer numbers dictate on almost every social issue."

That is about the most arrogant, idiotic public statement since, "Let them eat cake."
