Seattle, Oct. 18 (Bloomberg) -- Active Voice Corp. may be an acquisition target and potential buyers are Microsoft Corp., Cisco Systems Inc., Alcatel SA, NEC Corp. and Siemens AG, Investor's Business Daily reported, citing First Albany Corp. analyst Herbert Tinger. Active Voice President and Chief Executive Frank Costa said the company, which provides computerized call-processing systems, intends to remain independent. Tinger said, ``My opinion is that two or three years from now, Active Voice will probably not be an independent company any more,' the paper said.
In June, Microsoft said more than 50 companies, including Active Voice, are using its Exchange server to develop unified messaging.
