I see 2 possibilities:

1. Yields on 750s would be so low say 5-10% that they will wait for the 0.18 micron material to introduce 750/800's.

They may be better off just shipping 750's and above using 0.18 micron silicon.

With AMDs modest volumes I just cannot see them having two flavours of 750 - one 0.25 micron and another 0.18 micron.

And remember that as all wafer starts are 0.18 for Athlon starting from now the lifetime of the 0.25 750's would be a mobth or two at best.

This is the best case scenario and it maybe that they will be in shape to start ramping up the 0.18 parts out in a few weeks.

2. The other scenario is that they are running into an SRAM speed problem and that 750 and above will require 1/3 speed cache rams.

In this case the 750 may not be much faster than a 700 with 1/2 speed cache.

Just my thoughts,
