Other reasons are A)looking farther out when assessing the fortunes of a company, B) more individual investors, C) the increasing importance of technology stocks, which have faster moving businesses, and D) everything else. Options are just tracking the volatility of the underlying securities. They also carry richer premiums, which increases the movement. JMHO, Cooters
