Nightline had an interesting program last night following the start-up of yet another web portal. It's one that I've seen advertised on TV several times in the past few days: IWon.com. The Nightline program followed the founders of the company for six months while they worked in secret to get financing and prepare for the introduction of the portal. Their "secret sauce" is a money give-away gimmick. Users of the portal have a chance to win cash prizes. They sure did get the financing. CBS, which slow to follow ABC and NBC into the portal site sweepstakes, bought much of the company for a lot of money.
