Have you deduced the Camino problem or are you all still guessing?

I don't know. However, it is real possibility. Still guessing though.

Does the November 2-RIMM launch look likely? How viable will the Camino be? Will there be a speed penalty?


I think so because if this does explain the problem shortening the bus below a critical length will cure it without any speed penalty. Alternatively, (and again IF this is the problem) adjusting the bus termination voltage to the upper end of its tolerance band and using tighter tolerance regulators would also almost certainly cure it even with three RIMMs and with no speed penalty. If in due course the chipset were modified to prevent the problem (if etc...) then there would be a very, very small speed penalty and even the 3 RIMM arrangement would be very robust.
