We have gone almost two months without a post. So, I will break the ice.

I had lunch at RAIN's Downtown Chicago location on Friday. A little after noon they had the top floor nearly full; the lower level was vacant. My server told me that they are very busy on the weekends. They have removed the mushroom bar and replaced it with tables. This location now can seat nearly 600 people. The server turned our table in 45 minutes. Their business appears to be down from last year but still, they are doing good.

Around the corner is the oldest theme restaurant in Chicago, the Hardrock Cafe. I peeked into their establishment and found that they also were serving about the same number of customers. Their building appears to be about one-half the size of RAIN's and Hardrock's retail area is very small.

A block west, is or was Plant Hollywood. They closed about two weeks ago.
