PM sets up crack team to push reforms Priya Ranjan Dash NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee is taking direct charge of the economy. He proposes to play a proactive role in formulating economic policies and directing the course of reforms. As a first step, Mr Vajpayee has put together a crack team of his cabinet colleagues. He will lead this team, called the Cabinet Committee on Economic Reforms, and guide the formulation of economic policies. It is a compact team: external affairs minister Jaswant Singh, commerce and industry minister Murasoli Maran, finance minister Yashwant Sinha and Planning Commission deputy chairman K.C. Pant.
