When I was a kid, I had a job for a few weekends painting sealant onto the floors of microwave towers on several mountain tops in Montana. (Yeah. Nepotism. My dad was plant manager.)

After driving to the things, I understood why Mountain Bell owned big four-wheel drive pickups with very high clearance, along with a nifty tracked vehicle in those pre-snomobile days. Towers in the mountains weren't easy to get to in the winter. We were doing it in the springtime, however, so we were able to enjoy the incredible views even from the equipment buildings.
