Yes, do indeed take your kids to McDonald Ob. It is well worth your time. I think on Friday nights they still have "star parties" where many bring small telescopes for everyones viewing pleasure. And of course the new Observatory Scope is I believe the second largest in the world.

While there, go by Ft Davis and tour the old fort, then go "downtown" and eat a burger at the drug store. They are great!!

(I may have talked myself into a little roadtrip !!) :o)
