YOU WROTE: Guardian:

Apparently, you do not know about AOL's historic pattern: splits in the 120's range, at least 3 of the last 6 splits occuring in October-November, and the fact that there is a shareholder's meeting this week when one of the proposals is to increase the autorized numbers of shares.

The split may or may not happen. The facts enunciated above give better odds that a split announcement is much more likely to happen than not.

I suggest you do a little dd before calling me a promoter. Hey, am I a promoter for AOL? You better believe, pal.

======================================

First and foremost, I did not call you or infer you were a promoter although I admit wondering if you had the opposite in mind.

As to DD, you need to look not at all pre-split prices when making broad generalizations, but at the pre-split adjusted price trend. And that is moving up as the chart which Vendit helpfully provided below clearly shows. The yellow triangles mark the split-adjusted prices for the last three splits. From the chart addressed below you can see that post-split price of the most recent split was roughly 86.

That would be roughly 86 (x) 2 or 172 pre-split adjusted (the day before). Admittedly, the 172/share price reflects the runup after the split was announced, but I have followed aol for two years and recall that split announcement was made when the stock price was in the 140-150 range.

Perhaps it is you who should do the DD.
