I saw Rolf Harris, the Wizard of Aus, do this song in a small town community hall on Vancouver Island in the early 60s .... great show, he played about a dozen instruments including a digeridoo [sp?] and at one point did well over half an hour of Waltzing Matilda interspersed with a rap on local politics and the process of teaching the audience to sing the song, and very effectively too, i'll never forget it. Quite an entertainer.

So i thought it was his song, but not so - Altavista reveals that it was Lonny Donegan's - superior.net
