<<<You're right, and I am sorry for laying it on too thick, at least with respect to Edwarda. As for the rest of them, they aren't worth the powder to blow them to hell. >>>

I've been away, and don't want to rake up embers, but do want to weigh in on one thing, even though I see it's in the past. I want to because if I were Edwarda, I would have been terribly hurt by your characterization of me, even if you kinda took it back.

Edwarda is a good friend to men and women, too, from my point of view, and has been as kind to me, personally, as she has to any of the guys. But really I think she's kind to almost everyone; she clearly dislikes only nihil, whom I myself like, and one other, whom I think I'd like if I knew him better.

So I'm just putting on the record my opinion that Edwarda hasn't deserved any rough treatment here. I know you have said that, too, Cobe, but I felt that as a friend of Edwarda's I ought to say it also.

There is the specific matter of sexual allusions, which Edwarda makes more than some are comfortable with. Well, I also want to say that nobody's sexual allusions make me uncomfortable, and they often make me smile, and it's my opinion that Edwarda, who is an unmarried woman and an adventurous spirit, is having fun, and probably flattering some guys in a way that makes them feel good, and that squelching this playfulness isn't going to add to the sum total of earthly happiness.

But hey, we all have our sensitivities and our individual senses of propriety. I gather Edwarda has said she'll be careful to behave in a constrained way on this thread, out of consideration for those who prefer it. Which is very gracious of her, I'd say-- and characteristically so.

I find that this is an awkward post for me to write, because I count both Edwarda and you, Cobe, as good friends. And there is the complication of the fact that I have been the recipient of much personal viciousness by Edwarda's friends, and share your feeling that pleasant PM's to one who has agreed with you do not excuse hatefulness toward those who haven't.

But ... Edwarda is a good person, as we both know; and I, personally, enjoy not only her serious posts, but her playful ones and her vivid personality, too, and hope she continues to share them with us.
