I guess the question is whether high bandwidth is disruptive technology that could obsolete Gemstar.

I think high bandwidth is a continuous (not discontinuous) technology that will enhance Gemstar's position. When you mention that it will be easier to go to the newspaper, I don't see that as the future. I see print media gradually dying out, giving way to electronic publishing. The more electronic choices we have, the more we'll rely on electronic guides to navigate through all of our entertainment, education, and purchasing options.

P.S. I should add that though high bandwidth is discontinuous to the infrastructure providers, it's continuous for the end user. That's not an unimportant distinction when we're discussing consumer products.
