Hi, Penni! When my mother was dying of cancer and--importantly--at home, she asked if I would help her die if the pain became too much. I'd have done it, but she died very quickly and without the pain she feared. However, I made sure immediately of how much of a dose of morphine would be definitely fatal and kept it at hand. The day she died, I flushed it with a prayer of thanks that I had not had to use it.
