Mardy - Good links - the rfGlobalnet is new to me. The SSS site is possibly the most entertaining of all the sites I cruise through - most of this RF stuff is really BORING research!
Re: your attempts to get Mr. Gilder, and others, to notice Wi-LAN, I sure hope you're successful. The problem with this stock is that, despite months of research, I have been unable to engage in a discussion with people who are knowledgeable about the true potential, say, of WOFDM... (yes, I know - if Philips, Telia, potentially
Tele2 UK, and potentially, Texas Instruments are interested, why am I worrying?)
Because there are some mighty big players in this game, with deep pockets, who will not willingly be denied. Many have spent big bucks on R+D, and now are committing more money to infrastructure.
(BTW - these concerns are no reflection on the forthright responses of Hatim Zaghloul to all questions - his responses are factual, and do not stray into advocacy.)
Analyst's reports are OK, but let's face it, they're not RF experts, and they're not hanging around these threads to post info.
I think we'd rest a little easier if we could get some knowledgeable feedback - whether that knowledge be about the players, and their plans, or the technology, and probabilities of success. For example, what is the likelihood of WOFDM being incorporated into CDMA? Sure, we've all done the research, spectral efficiency, superior transmission/reception - it looks good... but what don't we know?
Have even found myself wishing for a buyout/takeover attempt - anything to confirm what we all strongly suspect - that this is winning technology (pun intended!).
This is, in many respects, a secretive business - and many of the participants are wrapped up in non-disclosure agreements, etc.
Anyway, Mardy, let's hope your efforts will be rewarded, and we'll all gain from what you've done. Until then, we'll have to live with the news we get - and that's pretty good!

Best to all, JK
