Re: quite a measurable difference on a lot of the benchmarks....

Come on Tenchusatsu, the performance of coppermine was an overall surprise on the upside, but the performance of Rambus is the opposite. PC 800 is binsplitted out and isn't even realistic for use in a real world test. Dell isn't planning on shipping anything faster than PC700 since that's all that can be reliably produced right now. Meanwhile PC133 is so easy to make that it's your choice, same price, for it or PC100. Yet these tests compare PC100 with Rambus 800 and in almost all of them, PC100 on a CPU clocked 33MHZ faster more than makes up the difference between PC100 and Rambus 800. What do you think would be the result of a comparison of PC133 and Rambus 700? - that's what exists in the real world right now.

You should be happy! With its terrific new cache, coppermine has caught up with Athlon in Integer, and just about caught up in floating point - much to everyone's surprise.
