Good morning Sig, Don't know about you but I just put one of these on my X-Mas wish list. I like the idea of the dual-pointing device. Another example of Dell listening to their customers.

Dell Launches New High-Performance and Value Corporate Notebook PCs; Dual Pointing Devices and CD-Read/Write Now Available on Latitude Notebooks
Business Editors and High-Tech Writers ROUND ROCK, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 25, 1999--Dell(R) Computer Corporation (Nasdaq:DELL), the world's leading direct computer systems company, today announced two new Latitude(R) C-family corporate notebook PCs with faster processors, dual-pointing options and enhanced graphics capabilities that offer customers a range of performance and value options. Dell also introduced a new CD-Read/Write module for all Latitude C-family notebooks.
Higher Performance, New Features
Available now, the Latitude CPx H500GT features the latest Intel(R) Mobile Pentium(R) III processor at 500MHz. The Latitude CPx also features the new Dell DualPoint design that integrates two cursor pointing devices: a touch pad and a pointing stick. Designed to improve usability, DualPoint lets customers use either device, or both. The flexibility DualPoint provides is important to Dell customers such as Banner Health Arizona. "Some of our users prefer the touch pad, some of them like the pointing stick," said Keith Price, system director, network services for Banner. "Now they can use the most comfortable device for them while the IT department can standardize on one vendor for all our notebook services." Also new, the Latitude CPx comes with 8 MB of video RAM and 2X AGP support for smooth video performance on its 14.1-inch TFT display. The Latitude CPx supports up to 512 MB RAM, one of the largest capacities in the industry. The standard Latitude CPx H500GT configuration includes three-year next-business-day on-site service(3), 64 MB RAM, 4.8 GB(1) hard disk drive, floppy disk drive and 24X-maximum CD-ROM(2) drive for $2,999. Complete Latitude product information is online at www.dell.com/products/notebook/latitude/index.htm.
New Value Option
Dell also announced a new addition to its CPt line that is targeted to price-sensitive institutional customers such as government and education. Like the high-performance CPx, the CPt offers the Dell DualPoint device and 8 MB of video memory. The Latitude CPt V466GT features an Intel Mobile Celeron(R) processor at 466 MHz, a 14.1" active matrix display and a standard configuration that includes a one-year next-business-day on-site service(3), 32 MB RAM, 4.8 GB(1) hard disk drive, Lithium-Ion battery, floppy disk drive and a 24X-maximum CD-ROM(2) drive for $1,799.
CD-R/W
Dell also introduced a rewritable CD-ROM drive that is now available for all Latitude C-family notebooks. CD-R/W technology provides customers enhanced mass-storage for notebooks. The CD-R/W module reads CD-ROMs and adds the ability to write up to 650 MB of data on a CD, approximately the same storage space as 450 floppy disks. Customers can order the new CD-R/W as a $299 upgrade from a traditional CD-ROM or purchase it separately for $349. All Latitude C-family notebooks share the same docking hardware and peripherals, including DVD-ROM, CD-ROM, floppy disk drive, additional hard disk drive, LS-120 drive and AC adapter. Dell designs its Latitude notebook line for business and institutional customers who value a low total cost of ownership (TCO), a consistent and reliable product, managed technology transitions and optimum performance in a connected environment. The Dell Latitude CPi and CPx target large corporate and institutional customers who seek desktop performance with minimal TCO. The Latitude CPt serves education and institutional customers who demand a low entry price for relevant technology. The Latitude CS is an ultramobile notebook for highly mobile users. Ranked No. 78 among the Fortune 500 companies and No. 210 in the Fortune Global 500, Dell Computer Corporation is the world's leading direct computer systems company, based on revenue of $21.7 billion for the past four quarters.
