That's a wise approach, tekboy. I started out selling puts because over on the Dell thread last year edamo made a good case for "you can't spend opportunity but you can spend cash"--i.e., by selling a put, you take in cash, and can use it to go long the common. Another SI veteran who taught me a lot said in a sense it was the method Warren Buffett used dto become rich: he sold insurance (which is what selling a put really is) and bought stocks. AN dheld onto them. Or you can use a put another way, you can buy a stock (be put) for less than market price "today" (the day you sell the put). Now I am beginning to wade into calls, but only on QCOM.
