G'day all - 1st, a disclaimer, I ve no position in either CPQ or DELL. I was tempted to bottomfish CPQ, but the news about DELL surpassing CPQ in the US in the 3rd Q will only add to the FUD factor against CPQ. Shooting WSJ - even if the messenger may be guilty in some eyes - doesn't overrule the fact that CPQ needs a lot of work. The thing is, while I am not crazy about EP, he did see the day of reckoning coming by trying to diversify. Problems are, PC is still the cash cow, lo margin that it may be, and his eyes were not on the ball. And the execution of his diversifications failed.
