I have no direct ear on the street, so my written words are pure conjecture on my part. In fact everything is essentially IMHO and sometimes IMSO (In my stupid opinion).

I imagine that the reps are grumbling and will make less going forward. Stents and assocaited PCTA devices are high dollar and only the best reps make it to this grade. Top end sales people are prima donna's and want the best device bag with the broadest line of instruments. BSX is not helping the sales force with near term so-so new stents. This new line up will not dislodge GDT as #1 and indeed will likley lose some market share.

The only alternative is to go to GDT, because MDT or JNJ is a step down in this particular market and they will make even less(I am not slighting these companies at all, as they are top, top, top notch in their respective strongholds).

Like most new CEO's Tobin is given a limited grace period (less than 6 monhs) by investors for past misdeeds. Japan was a mess and if there were additional messes in the U.S. or Europe, Tobin should have gotten to the bottom of them by now and reported on them. If he drops a bomb about those concerns now - look out below - he will have no credibility with the Street. I am giving him credit for knowing this. We shall see.
